SEESAW On-Line Portfolio



Seesaw On-Line Portfolio
Seesaw is an on-line portfolio where you can post pictures, videos, and other items on a website.  You can post positive comments and “like” other students’ work.  We will also use this to share with our parents so they can see our new learning.  I think we will really enjoy using this, SO LET’S GET STARTED . . .

Signing On:  You can sign on to the Seesaw app 2 different ways.  One way is by using a QR code (which we will use later during stations); the other way is by using a code.  Today, we will use the code and your class code is: ____________________
Click on the Seesaw app on the ipad, then on I’m a student, and then enter the class code.

We will complete 5 different tasks today.

Task 1: Camera Roll
1.          Click on the green plus sign every time you are adding a new item.
2.         Click on Camera Roll.
3.         Choose the picture from your photo library that you want to use (the 4 square that we took a picture of).
4.         Click on the drawing tool (pencil) and write the correct word inside each square.
herbivore – an animal that gets energy by eating only plants
carnivore – an animal that gets energy by eating only other animals
omnivore – an animal that gets energy by eating both plants and other animals
decomposer – an organism that gets energy by decomposing organic material (example: mushrooms)
5.         Click on the green check mark when you are finished and ready to post your work.

Click on your name and that will send your work for approval



Task 2: Photo
1.          Click on the green plus sign every time you are adding a new item.
2.         Click on Photo.
3.         Use the camera to take a picture of what is on the front screen.
4.         Add text to your picture (the capital T) telling what producers and consumers are IN YOUR OWN WORDS.
producer – an organism that uses sunlight to make its own food for energy
consumer – an organism that gets energy from eating another organism
5.         Use the drawing tool (the pencil) to write a “P” in the picture of the producer and a “C” in the picture of the consumer.
6.        Click on the green check mark when you are finished and ready to post your work.
7.         Click on your name and that will send your work for approval.





Task 3: Video

1.          Click on the green plus sign every time you are adding a new item.
2.         Click on Video.
3.         Use the video camera to record your group’s presentation on their part of the Science reading assignment.  Hit the pause button when you are finished recording.
4.         Click on the green check mark.
5.         Click on the green check mark when you have checked your video and are ready to post your work.
6.    Click on the name of ALL of the group members and that will send your work for approval.



Task 4: Note
1.          Click on the green plus sign every time you are adding a new item.
2.         Click on Note.
3.         Type your answer to the question in a COMPLETE SENTENCE.
In your own words, tell me what a food chain is.
4.         Click on the green check mark when you are finished and ready to post your work.
5.         Click on your name and that will send your work for approval.



Task 5: Responses
1.          To respond to another classmate’s post, click on Class Account (top left).
2.         Click on Feed View.
3.         Scroll through the feed view and find AT LEAST 2 posts to comment on.  (You can also “like” some, but you must post complete sentences on 2 other students’ posts as part of your grade.)
4.         Type a positive message telling what you liked or agree with from 2 different classmates’ posts.

5.         Click on your name to post the comments to your classmate.
